She has many names that she goes by. Among three names she had, the only official name is “Aye Myat Moe Moe”. When people asked which one is her last name, she would answer:
“I do not have a last name. Most people in Myanmar do not own one. Our names are given by the day in which we are born. In other words, there is a popular belief in traditional astrology. The parents would often consult with the astrologers to choose their children’s names to be as auspicious as possible. People who understand how the naming process works would be able to tell that I am born on a Sunday.”
